Hacking Hardware ID = 44, AKAIO 1.5+ does not work.

I was told that HW ID 44 carts could run the latest AKAIO. Instead I get a pair of black screens. This happens even if I borrow the stick out of my friends Acekard.

I bought the cart last year during Otakon, so I'm fairly certain it's not from the new bad batch.

What is going wrong?

You're correct (IFAIK)
HW:44 are 'genuine' Acekard 2i based on Actel chip design
HW:80 are either 'Real' or 'Fake' Ak2i with Actel chips - depending on your point of veiw (more details supplied by Another World can be found in this post)

'Bad Batch' cards only affect ak 2.1 cards - & these are HW:80

I've got a HW:44 & that run AKAIO1.6RC2 just fine.

Just to check - what do you mean by 1.5+ ??
Do you meant you've tried v1.5, v1.5.1, v1.6RC1 and v1.6RC2 ??

Yes, everything since the 1.4 repack just gives me black screens. I don't get a "Your cart is fake" screen, just a bunch of nothign to look at. Are there fake carts with hardware id 44?

Apparently there must be. Which is aggravating.

i got a bunch of people in #acekard to run tests on what they own. we compiled this official list for the wiki...

QUOTEWhat are the HWID's of the different Acekard builds?
1.AK2 pre-FAT error - HWID 40
2.AK2 post-FAT error - HWID 41
3.AK2 Dark Green with the 2.1 FAT fix (windowed CPU) and a 2.1 sticker - HWID 41
4.AK2.1 Light/Dark Green PCB - HWID 80
5.AK2.1 Black PCB - HWID 80
6.AK2.1 Blue PCB - HWID ??
7.AK2i HWIDs - 44 & 81
Acekards with HWIDs not listed here are clones!

and as for the bad batch 2.1.... all i say is wait for the next public release of akaio =)

Wasn't there reports from other people buying from otakon last year that they were all fakes?

Another World: Do you mind if I add this to my post in place of my little list, as it's a little more detailed??
And can you explain a couple of things like: 'pre-FAT/post-FAT' and 'Dark green with the 2.1 FAT fix' ??
I THINK the 'Dark Green' relates to the cct board colour - am I right ??

EDIT: Hang on.. I'm actually reading the WIKI for more details... Oh & you forgot to mention it's on the AKAIO Wiki (I was looking for it on the Acekard WIKI's)

So IF I understand this right:
The FIRST batch of AK2's, which didn't have a FAT error, are HW:40
The Second batch made, which DID have a FAT error, had a HW:41
These were 'repaired' and re-distributed as Ak2.1 - so also have a HW: 41
The THIRD batch of acekard 2 that were made, without any problems, & have a HW:80
A FOURTH batch were made, but with a Black PCB - but the HW stayed the same (HW:80)
FIFTH batch of Ak had Blue PCB but the HW number is not know (I wonder why ??)
Then out comes the Ak2i - with 2 different HW numbers

lol, yea akaio wiki.

the early ak2 was fine, then they released a batch that had a File Allocation Table (FAT) error. the error rendered the card useless and would happen on different cards at different points during the life cycle. so there is a hwid for the card before the FAT problem, and a different hwid for the card after they *fixed* the FAT problem. this means that the cards that experienced the FAT problem were the early hwid number. later that fixed ak2 was rebranded as the 1st version of the 2.1. this card has a darker green pcb and you can see the ak2 chip through a window in the shell. the only difference is the 2.1 sticker, it has the same hwid as the post FAT error ak2.

the blue pcb is unknown because its really rare, they didn't make many. i haven't found anyone yet who has one.

does that make more sense?

and yea feel free to use it.

this is probably more clear....

1.AK2 pre-FAT/FAT error - HWID 40
2.AK2 *fixed* FAT error - HWID 41
3.AK2 Green PCB, windowed CPU, FAT fix and a 2.1 sticker - HWID 41
4.AK2.1 Light/Dark Green PCB - HWID 80
5.AK2.1 Black PCB - HWID 80
6.AK2.1 Blue PCB - HWID ??
7.AK2i HWIDs - 44 & 81

Thanks for that 'Another World' -
One other thing I've seen mentioned in other forums acekard with HW:88 (Here). A google tranlation of one of the posts is
QUOTE said:
hi, I bought my 2 i acekard I get here and that is hw: 44 as can be if you say that the disk that are blue are hw: 88, I have to do and because I get to me that is hw: 44, a greeting
So could that meant the Blue PCB HW number is meant to be '88' ??
jose 2009-05-04 20:30:24 hola, yo he comprado mi acekard 2 i aqui y me sale que es hw:44 como puede ser si decis que las que son de disco azul son hw:88, que tengo que hacer y porque me sale a mi que es hw:44, un saludo
Oh & no Ak2i with HW:80 - so that's classed as a Clone then ??

the blue pcb was only the ak2.1 from what i know. perhaps they made a 2i but i would need pictures to have proof. the ak2i information that is now in the wiki came directly from normmatt. as far as we know these are the only builds made officially by acekard. they are using a new design now so perhaps there is a new hwid. again i would need images as proof before adding it to the wiki.

@AW: I think you may've misread that quote a bit
wink.gif

The way I read it is that the poster is saying that he has a 2i with HW:44, but he was replying to some1 else who claims that they had a Blue PCB with a HW of 88
(the problem is I've looked at the rest of the thread but can't see anyone stating that)

I'm assuming that some1 DID mention they had a acekard, with a blue PCB & it had a HW:88 meaning that the card they have/had was in fact a ak2.1 (which ties in mainly to what you've already stated)

All I was doing is putting forward the suggestion that those particular cards COULD have a HW:88 code, but of course until some1 can come up with a ak2.1 with a blue PCB and confirm the HW no - we will never know for sure

I took the sticker off the front of the cart and found an Xlinx Spartan chip. This means that having HW ID 44 is not an indicator of legit-ness, unless I have failed to see something about this in another thread.

we have received confirmation that the blue pcb ak2.1 is hwid of 80. the 88 was always known to be a clone.

also there are now reports of a clone hw44 ak2i. it has a different chip from what acekard used. i have yet to see images so i can't confirm it yet.

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"

Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
