Hardware hard mod -> pc without reader?

its most likely that the micro sd card reader was put in the 3ds itself to make it an AIO hard mod. there was a thread here a while ago of a guy showing off this exact mod for the card reader.

Nope, they made their own universal adapter is alll.

Maybe it's one of these tiny microSD readers under that shrink wrap.

A resistor would not be sufficient. I have an idea of what he did though. in the heat shrink is probably a breakout board with a 3.3v regulator. how its wired is beyond me though .
