Hi all, with zelda coming out I'm thinking about getting a wii u, I'm not keen on the switch and the only game I want is coming out on the wii u as well but I do have a few questions before I attempt this.

Is there a guide like Plailects guide but for wii u hacking.

Can I play games off and external hard drive

Are the games region free

Is it fully soft modded now or do you have to load the exploit each time I boot the console

I think you are looking for the Wii U - Tutorials subforum found here: http://gbatemp.net/forums/wii-u-tutorials.265/ . A useful tutorial/post that lists a lot of useful tutorials and information can be found here: http://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-setup-custom-firmware-w-sigpatches.446818/
If you need further help just dm me :D.
Thanks, can I just ask which is the better way to run cfw, sysnand cfw or Rednand. Also is there an app to run games like wii flow on the wii or do you install Wud files like cia's on the 3ds.

Also is there a way to convert isos to wuds

I would recommend a sysnand CFW if you don't mind the small risk of bricking your system. However, redNAND can be used to make a second NAND so that your actual system NAND is unharmed if anything goes wrong. You don't need a special app to run games, you can actually install games straight to the home menu using a program called WUP installer. There is actually a program that lets you grab many games right off the internet, and to put them on your flash drive for installation with WUP installer. This program can be found here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-wii-u-usb-helper-a-small-eshop-for-windows.446565/ . And, this YouTube video shows how to get games using the program and how to install them with WUP installer: .

Actually, WUP installer supports installing games to USB storage or System Storage, SD installation is not possible currently. I edited my post above to include a useful video for explaining the whole process!

Wow what's with all this old info? Just boot up mocha cfw instead of building RedNand or sysnand iosuhax
