    Coming as a complete surprise is a brand new release of h-encore² for the PlayStation Vita. TheFloW is back, bringing hack support for PlayStation Vita systems on firmwares 3.65 up to the new, previously unhacked 3.71. As other variations of h-encore, this custom firmware allows users to make kernel modifications, resulting in plugin support, changing the default clock speed, and of course, running homebrew. You can grab the new release right now, but you'll want to make sure you have a few tools at your disposal, to get everything working. You'll need a Vita on any of the aforementioned firmware versions (3.65+), a memory card if you have an OLED model, a link to an existing PlayStation Network account, qcma, psvimgtools, and pkg2zip (download links in the source). Then, the last thing you will require is a DRM-free demo of a game called bitter smile, which is used as h-encore²'s entry point. This marks the first time that 3.71 has been cracked, after its release back in late July. If you've been stuck on 3.71, now is the perfect time to join the exploited PlayStation Vita club. The full instructions have been included, below.

    Regardless, you'll likely want to grab bitter smile as soon as you possibly can, just in case.

    @RattletraPM Too late, I saw that. :tpi:

    EDIT: This is great news by the way, though I still wonder if it's worth upgrading from 3.60. I was advised not to, and it seems support is still king in that firmware.

    If you are already on a hacked firmware, can you just update it?
    Or do you need to get the drm game still?

    Can you downgrade from this? Or is there any point to downgrade at this rate?

    The ideal situation is to own two vitas ;D then you can have the best of both worlds. And maybe have three PSTVs on the side, for fun.

    Help I think I have an addiction

    I don't believe so. I only skimmed the instructions. I believe it's like henkaku (needs to be done at every boot). and, I didn't see a mention of modoru.

    Own two Vitas for two newsposts? ;O;
    But seriously though, what does 3.71 have that 3.60 doesn't? You can play the latest games on 3.60. :unsure:

    Just to be clear, people on 3.60-3.65 should still stay there because you get coldboot there. ref00d means you can still play higher firmware games.

    I’m pretty sure in all seriousness, the end goal is downgrading from higher FW to 3.60 because it’s the king. It’s still what I rock on my main vita. I just bought an extra for review codes, and once those dried up, I put h-encore on it just to try.

    I'm still on 3.65. I'll probably just stay there on both the vita and the pstv. however, there's one question I have about that. can you downgrade with ensou installed? 'cause I think the first step to installing ensou 3.65 was to uninstall ensou first on 3.60.
