Gaming Guitar Hero 5 Doubt

I'm going to buy guitar hero 5, but i still have a smal doubt about the guitar: does it work with the previous games (more specifically the 4th generation)? Plz help.

The guitar will work with any Guitar Hero game for Wii (Guitar Hero 3, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, Guitar Hero: World Tour, Guitar Hero: Metallica, Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits and Guitar Hero 5), with Rock Band 2, LEGO Rock Band, The Beatles: Rock Band, Rock Band: Track Pack 2, Rock Band: AC/DC Track Pack and Band Hero.

Should be enough for at least a while

The only games it won't work with are Rock Band and the first track pack(s).
