never under estimate people we always figure out how to get things to work. now if i could only find a 40" lcd screen. any one have one or know were i can find one? son wanted a "real" 3d screen, so a hotwheel ended up coming out of the tv. grrrr/lol..

What the hell is installed into this wii dunno but with a lot of trying with the disc swap method and getting the exploit working finally hackmii installer just gives me "There is no vulnerable IOS installed on this Wii" message...
Thought that I already installed Mario Kart Channel so I took the disc swap method... It's a pain in the arse to get the time right with the Sonic game which was the only one I was able to do the trick...
Any solid ideas?

The sticky thing is although the recovery mode of this Wii shows
"4.3(USA)", however, the language setting is "JPN" (after some tests).
It caused the SSBB-PAL can't be started no matter I used "Mariokart PWNs"
or "Disc Swap PWNs" . (I have verfiied those discs work on another error 003
KOR Wii which language setting is USA)
Since SSBB-PAL didn't work, then I tried to use SSBB-KOR instead.
But the SSBB-KOR only works for the language setting is "Korea".

I have been trying to fix 003-jap wii, but it appears the SSBB-PAL will not load under the Jap language setting. I also tested SSBB-KOR, but it also does not load under the Jap language setting. For what it is worth, SSBB-KOR does autoboot, but only appears to work under the KOR language setting. So as far as I can tell 003-Jap wiis are SOL unless you had cioscorp installed prior to the 003 brick.

The jap files don't work, you can not load ssbb-pal on a wii set to use the jap language. You can not fix 003 error on 4.2/4.3j without some patched ios installed that can be loaded via official game tmd. At least that is my understanding, if anyone made if work they forgot to share it with me.

I have flatmii chip. I am on 4.2(USA) in recovery menu. I successfully load disc 1 of the marioPWNS disc set. When returning from the home screen to load disc2 it is unsuccessful. Are there any error003 recoveries known via flatmii?
Make sure you let the drive spin up before you click on the install channel. You should here a little click from the drive. Possibly try using a swap disc instead of the channel installer. I would keep trying with Mario Kart, and if that does not work, try a swap disc. What is happening after you load disc2?
Thanks for the reply, I was using software on the connected laptop to load the isos (my drive died a long time ago, which is why I have Flatmii) Anyway, I have now found a solution. In the software I ejected disc1(via the software on laptop) at the channel installation screen in mariokart, (rather than after selecting to install a channel first, then ejecting and loading disc2) The wii asks for the mariokart disc to be re-inserted, I load disc2 (via software again) then selected install channel and ssbb-pal booted! error003 neutralised after 2years thru this fix and subsequent softmodding/replacement of nasty ios70!!! You were right about letting the drive "spin up" although i had no way of telling as I'm using a laptop connection via usb, thanks for the help.

i double clicked mariokart-pwns.bat and it created disc1.iso
didnt see disc2 as indicated in the followin instructions.
