I think what irritates me is that nintendo keep running ads on TV targeting the DS towards adults. but all the DS games for adults are shit like brain training

custom robo arena did kinda piss me off with its story line at points. I mean a game like pokemon has a main character that is supposed to be like 12 too, but it doesn't play a big part in the story line like it does in CRA.

it seems the only good RPGs for the DS that don't have 12 year old main characters are ports like final fantasy and chrono trigger (well, Im not sure how old chrono is supposed to be actually)

He's about the same age as Lucca and in the game there was a part ...

where you had to go back in time to save Luccas mother from her accident.

It was 10years in the past, and IF I remember correctly Lucca was 6-7 around that time. Add +10 and you'll get 17. So even thou it's never stated, Chrono is around 16-18 if you try to calculate it using the story. But I think the reason they never mention any age in the game and never give any clear hint to it is because the developers wanted the players to imagine the protagonist as they please. Probably that's the reason Chorno never talks and such.

QUOTEI'm 20 and don't feel bad playing games like Kirby Super Star Ultra.

Me neither, but as much as I love comedy shows sometimes I'd rather watch an action movie. If you know what I mean.

Alucat, did I misunderstand your sentence, or did you just call SNES Star Ocean a bad game?
Because that was one of the best games the SNES ever had. God damn it, now I'm downloading it again.

LOOK WHAT YOUR FOOLISH ACTIONS HAVE BROUGHT UPON ME.

ONTOPIC:
Defining things as childish is wearying endeavor, since it has many gray areas.
What does criteria does one go by?
Graphics? Kiddy-looking games have had mature stories, and mature-looking games have had stories suited to 12yearolds.
Story? You don't like heroes? Want it to be about badguys, because hero-stories are kiddy? OK. Try this game; WARIO LAND.
Want a deep story? Play XenosagaWHOOPS it's just pretending to be deep by using mythological/philosophical/theological names and not making any sense.

Bottom Line:
Too childish? Don't play it.

You missunderstood. I was saying that those were GOOD games. Star Ocean was _THE_ best RPG on the SNES. Period. I've edited my earlyer post to make it clear.

Maybe I'll play it again... Damn this is like mentioning Deus Ex... whoops....
