Well, this kind of graphics gives solution for everyone, it's pretty much like 2D top-down view, yet at the same time it gives us some 3D experience, everyone will be happy

Actually, yeah, it is fully 3D. But the isometric perspective will probably eliminate a host of potential problems: pop-in, slowdown, etc. Houser said so much in his interview with NP.

Wow, this game looks awesome. I might actually have some fun with it. When we heard about the the game, we were all skeptical about how it would look. We wanted it to be 3d but not full out 3rd person shooter because then it would be crap cuz the ds cant handle that. This is exactly what I was looking for after seeing the NP pictures. I was waiting for this game before but after seeing and reading about it I have a small fraction of the same anticipation as I did with GTA IV.

But.. isn't it cel-shading? I thought it's not 3D? It looks like 3D but at the same time 2D, and I got confused with it, is cel-shading not what I think all this time?

Yeah, it's kind of hard to see exactly from those screenshots, and the NP article even describes the graphics as having hard outlines for the cel-shading so as to give more definition to the different characters and objects. But yeah, it's still fully 3D (cel-shaded, as you said). Should look pretty good in motion, I assume. They're adding in all the little nuances, such as night & day, weather, peds, etc., to make it feel like an authentic GTA experience.

I guess they could have gone the route that games such as Transformers and Tony Hawk have gone on DS, but according to Houser, doing that would have greatly limited them in the amount of people and cars they could have onscreen at a given time, as well as limiting the scope of the city and presenting issues with pop-in. If anyone knows how to squeeze insane amounts of shit out of a system, it's definitely Rockstar, so I'll trust their judgment on this one. Still a little disappointing they didn't opt for the full third-person perspective. But the cars and buildings should look a lot better for it, I suppose.

a full third person perspective is just better, this feels like top-down view, but not a true one, which makes it pretty hard to navigate (judging from the images, IDK if the camera is rotatable or not) and shooting people is just harder

I wonder if this will take more than 1 day to play? ALl GTA games (except GBA, maybe) takes at least a wekk, I'd hope for at least 2 days gameplay if that's possible

Happy to hear they included motorcycles in it! I've always preferred them to cars in San Andreas. Although I doubt they'll include planes anymore considering the viewing angle they've decided on. Haha..

Unless...they tried to make plane sequences their own, kind of Ikaruga-style mini game. That would be cool as shit, I think.

WUT ? ... Payback for the GBA had copters... Motorcycles have been confirmed for this one already (NP) so they should be possible.

But I got a feel this game will have SO MUCH stuff to it, (*want*) that it will not even disappoint the graphic whores because they will be too busy playing it.

Lastly, I guess a camera-hack could work... but how cares, this game will rock with or without one !

No news on multiplayer yet. Maybe Edge magazine will be covering that bit? So far what's confirmed is uploading stats to the Rockstar Social Club.

I'm sure single player will be a blast on its own, but if they also came up with wonderful multiplayer modes it'll be great.
