If you had any clue what "socialism" means then you wouldn't use it. If Obama is a "socialist" leader with a "socialist" agenda and if I was of age to vote, I'd elect him.

On one hand, if there's ever some dire attack on our cyberspace then I guess a kill switch would work. On the other hand it seems too prone to being used improperly.

At this point I wouldn't support it.

Though this my not be the proper topic, I will ask you, where may I ask has a pure socialistic utopia actually worked outside of the lost city of the mythical Atlantis? Socialism and all derived forms of government all fail because of human nature. There is not government that will work in its purest form. Democracy died with the Roman Empire, and a Republic is slowly failing. I'm not gonna lie, Socialism has its strong points, but as it stands, it doesn't work. The only way any government will work with socialism, is if it integrates every good thing about every form of government (except Monarchical, and dictatorships). Not only will this never happen, but it won't work either because its not going to happen right. I honestly hope the world ends in 2012. I have lost all faith in humanity, and all faith in the intelligence of the human race. Not only because the slate has become so complicated, but because no one wants to try to do anything (or can't) about the state of the world, and its not gonna get better unattended. Just wipe the slate clean, and let the process begin anew, and hopefully our predecessors will not make the same mistakes.

Once the people rebel from too much governmental control (like egypt..don't think it wont happen here!) and martial law is law and a "emergency" is established..they will turn off the internet so no one can rebel or communicate..or assemble...kinda like communism...

That's not what socialism means at all. Socialism is putting the advancement and care of society high on the political agenda. What you're thinking of is a dictatorship. Sweden has been a socialist country for the longest of time and is nothing like you describe. If Obama was a socialist he wouldn't be creating a killswitch, he would be campaigning for a basic free internet service in every home.
