Basically I have a Toshiba WT310 tablet with Windows 8.1 on it. Got fed up with Microsoft pushing Win10. Wanting to switch to Linux. Any help is appreciated.

But there isn't a tablet version, is there?
You actually should be able to boot a liveUSB version onto it. Looking at the specs, it just looks like a normal laptop stripped of most of the laptop features. But I can't seem to find a guide on how to install Ubuntu on it

I just looked up booting from USB, I couldn't find anything on this  I've rarely run into computers/tablets with so little documentation or at least ones made by such an established company like Toshiba.

No so much Ubuntu, but Unity which is the default window manager or whatever it's called. If you're willing to put a small amount of effort in, you can get Unity going on otherwise more accessible distros, namely Linux Mint.

I can put the desktop version of Ubuntu on my tablet fine. I can even use the touch screen. It's just the long press to right click and the auto appearing and disappearing virtual keyboard I need to get working.
