QUOTE said:February 9, 2010 - During Ubisoft's third quarter financial call this morning, chairman and CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed the recently announced Ghost Recon: Future Soldier title will be released on the Nintendo Wii.
Ubisoft also confirmed the tite will be shipping on all platforms this holiday. Guillemot stated during the publisher's investor call, however, that development for the Wii version is being done by a different team and will focus on appealing to the Wii audience.
"It will be on all platforms, including the Wii, but it's not going to be exactly the same product, he said. "It's done by a different team, so it's a different approach, and will be created for the Wii population."
Activision similarly released a separate Call of Duty title this past fall for the Wii, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare -- Reflex Edition, which was developed by Treyarch, not Infinty Ward. It'll be interesting to see if Ubisoft simply adds motion-aiming, or goes in a completely different direction with the Wii version.

Not sure what to think of this. Ubisoft, one of the big dogs in shovelware publishing for Nintendo, has suddenly been picking up and publishing a lot of hardcore/mature games for the Wii: Red Steel 2, NMH2, and now this. Who knows?
