Hello everyone!

My thread title pretty much describes my issue; I gather this is a common problem. So I installed the Homebrew Channel and a cIOS to my Wii, then dumped my NAND to an EmuNAND stored on a usb stick (inserted into port 0). I can play the VC games that were on my NAND on the dumped EmuNand just fine, but my issue is when I install a wad via wad manager. The install process works fine, but on the USBloaderGX, the game channel appears greyed out rather than displaying the game logo/graphic. When I try to load it, I get taken back to the Homebrew Channel.

I have an SD card inserted into the front slot as well, which i use to play GC games via Nintendont, which works fine. I figure my problem is either with the cIOS, or that USBLoaderGX is just not playing ball with my usb stick. As everyone's situation may be unique, I figured I'd just post my syscheck here. Any help you can offer would be much appreciated, thanks!

Hello,

Use Modmii ==>https://gbatemp.net/threads/modmii-for-windows-official-support-topic.207126/

Your cios are badly installed, reinstall your cios correctly like this, either "version 8 final" or "version 10 beta 52" ==>

IOS249 [57] (rev 21010 Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug NAND Access USB 2.0
IOS250 [56] (rev 65535 Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug NAND Access USB 2.0
IOS251 [58] (rev 21010 Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug NAND Access USB 2.0
OR

IOS249 [57] (rev 21008 Info: d2x-v8finale): Trucha Bug NAND Access USB 2.0
IOS250 [56] (rev 21008 Info: d2x-v8finale): Trucha Bug NAND Access USB 2.0
IOS251 [58] (rev 21008 Info: d2x-v8finale): Trucha Bug NAND Access USB 2.0

Use an external hard drive preferably for Wii, because USB keys often have compatibility problems with wii (often black screen or does not start)

Update usb loader gx (1272) ==>https://sourceforge.net/projects/usbloadergx/

Hi, thanks for your quick reply!

Ok, so I know how to update USBLoaderGX (I think I have 1272 already), but what would I use Modmii for? (Sorry, I'm usually lost with things like this without step-by-step instructions!)

Also, how do I update my cios to look like how you've written it up there? Is it simply a case of reinstalling like the first time I installed it? Should I use v10 beta 52 again because that's what I initially used?

Thanks!

Hello,

To correctly install the CIOS d2x with Modmii, follow the instructions below:

1) Open Modmii
2) type "I Agree"
3) select "4"
4) select "REC" (recommend cios)
5) select "D" (download selected files)
6) select "Y" (Yes)
7) your CIOS are loaded
8) select "O" and you will find your CIOS d2x in the "wad" folder on the opened page, recover them, and put them in the Wad folder on your SD.
9) you just have to install them with a Wad installer (wad manager, yet another wad manager mod, or other wad installers)

Then repost a new syscheck report, for control, Thank you.

Sorry it's taken so long to get round to this. But I really appreciate the help!

Ok, so I downloaded Modmii like you said, and the recommended CiOS files onto my SD card. Just to double check before I install them on my Wii, are the following the correct files? These are what I have in my wad file on my SD card.

cIOS202[60]-v5.1R.wad
cIOS222[38]-v4.wad
cIOS223[37-38]-v4
cIOS224[57]-v5.1R
cIOS249[57]-d2x-v8-final
cIOS250[56]-d2x-v8-final
RVL-cMIOS-v65535(v10)_WiiGator_WiiPower_v0.2

I'm using Multi-Mod Manager 13.4 to install them. How do I do this again?

Many thanks in advance!

Hello.:)

Thank you for your Update.

For your Question about the Multi Mod Manager:
Before please place the WAD Files in an Folder you easily "recognize".
Like "cIOS Install" or something like that.

- start it from the Homebrew Channel please.
- choose "WAD Manager " please and press "A" on your Wii Motion Controller.
- please navigate with the D-Pad to the Folder you named with the WAD Files inside and confirm with "A".
- now you can Choose/mark and install one WAD File after one or with "+" you can mark them for Batch Installation.
- after the Installation is finished, please press "HOME" and return to the Homebrew Channel.

That is all for now.:)
Please be sure you have "Priiloader" and/or "BootMii" (as boot2 if possible) installed,BEFORE you make the Installation.

If you experience Issues with the Multi Mod Manager you can also use the "WiiMod Lite" WAD Manager instead.

Good Luck
Thank you.:)

Hi, thanks for your swift reply! Yeah, I used BootMii at boot2 prior to originally installing the cIOS files. I'll rename the folder on the SD card to something more recognisable.

So I just install the above files I downloaded on ModMiii one after another? Are they all required, as in, are they the correct ones?

Thanks again!

cIOS223[37-38]-v4
cIOS224[57]-v5.1R
cIOS249[57]-d2x-v8-final <---- YES,the important cIOS for USB Game Loading
cIOS250[56]-d2x-v8-final <-- Backup for some Games which not working with the above, recommended to Install too.

The other cIOSes are no longer Relevant for USBLoading Games with the USBLoader GX.
My personal Recommandation, yes please also install it.
Why ? It does not hurt your Wii and maybe some not so known "Shovelware" Game (Horse Game(s) for Example) or modded (like Just Dance 2020 Plus) will need it.:)

Thank you.:)

This Application should work.
Good Luck.:)

Hi, it worked perfectly, thanks so much! :D I installed a new VC title to emunand on the usb stick, and it ran fine! Unlike the games I carried over from the Wii nand dump, though, it came up without channel artwork. I take it USBLoaderGX allows you to download this?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Will post a new syscheck report after I go eat for posterity's sake. Thanks again everyone. :)

Your Report is fine for USB Game Loading, ready to go.:)

This is NOT important to USBLoader/Game loading:you can install Hermes cIOS in Slot 222 and 223 with Bases 37 and/or 38 if you like. Why ? Maybe some Modded Games and/or Shovelware Games likes it more...but again,it is not vital necessary.:)

If you use USBLoader GX maybe you can try r1271 or r1268 when you experience Issues with r1272 please.

Good luck
Thank you.:)
