Just adding some detail basically everything that was said by Thoob.Thoob said:1. Check if it switches on.
2. Check if it will play a game.
3. Check if it will sign in to PSN.

1. Make sure its a solid green light (play it for about 30 mins while running a game to see if it'll YLOD or not)
2. fat ps3 tend to have the faulty drives, so bring a PS3 game and test it. Make sure it can read and play it.

5. Make sure the hdmi port in the back works.
This is for the fat PS3.

60GB fat... isn't that a launch model? If so, put a PS2 game in there and see if that works too (because launch models are backwards compatible).lesj1989 said:Finishoff said:Just adding some detail basically everything that was said by Thoob.Thoob said:1. Check if it switches on.

I'm pretty sure that the fan kicking in on the XMB isn't going to make that much of difference, if that's what you meant to ask. I have no idea what you said in the second question. =/ The YLOD on the PS3 isn't really a common issue... but I'm pretty sure it's fixable.lesj1989 said:Oh no I forgot to look! The fan kicks in even on the dash? Is it dear to fix if it get ylod?
