You know if you go to the mainsite it say it's safe. But as soon as you visit a forum post with signatures that links to other sites. It will say it might be unsafe. So blame the people with signatures that aren't https

It's due to 'mixed content', a.k.a. content being served over http from another domain.

You're system is prefectly fine I often just let them remove that optional thing. It's an annoying thing some sites adds so you can search on them directly through Chrome.
