Good afternoon, please help, I already broke my head, I have the usual Nintendo DS Lite, I did everything as described on the manual, but I ran into a problem: when I launch any game, the screen is just black, there’s not even a BIOS loading, I have the original BIOS and fits on MD5
I use a R4 Dual-core flashcart ordered from China, I use a Sandisk sd card 16 gb 4 classes,
I tried to format the USB flash drive in FAT 32 4kb cluster, also in 32kb
tried different releases of arm7 and arm9,
Patched games using the gbata program,
The result is the same black screen, does not load anything.
sorry for my English
I can’t show the video because I'm new, I recorded the video and uploaded it to YouTube :(
Could you post the link to your youtube video?

Oh yeah, that was the other thing I forgot to mention. Every time I set any game to skip the bios screen, I get a solid black screen instead, and the game never boots.

Nope. It works on DS Phat and Lite as well!
I will definitely read about it!)

I do not have BIOS skip enabled, I changed the settings, tried it, anyway the black screen

@Arhur_Genesis, is this your video?
Did you check if your rom has a romintro attached?
Also, try to boot the arm9 version.

yes, this is my video)
I didn't understand the question a bit
I tried different versions, arm 9 also black screen, on video I tried 2 versions arm7 and 9

This is a romintro. It plays before the game. This has been attached by a group that dumped the game.
Games with a romintro don´t work on gbarunner2.
You should look for clean gba roms. Google No-Intro gba rom.

You must run gbarunner2 via YSMenu, otherwise no game will be started
I tried now through YSmenu an error came out: "unsupported dldi name"

Guys! Drop someone a link to: TWiLight Menu ++ for the Nintendo DS Lite version, the link is dead on the official source, there is only an update to 3ds

I have a SIMILAR R4, and if I try to run GBA Runner 2 just like you did in that video, it will simply crash after 10~20 seconds after booting any game and some of my SD card data gets corrupted. (last tested this on the first WI-FI branch, I got scared and didn't tried it again yet.)
But if I try to run it using YSMenu it works great!

Oh, and how\where do I add cover arts @Gericom ? Do you have a tutorial?

You need to download the cover package I uploaded before. I think there's a link on the wiki as well.

Just came here to say that I finished a 100% run of Metroid Zero Mission with minimal bugs (music skips some notes, some minor graphics bugs during cutscenes, sleep mode and original NES metroid dont work, thanks @Gericom !

I need to replay this gem like now. I'm gonna test some hacks and see if they will work.

Zero Mission is also the definitive way to play Metroid 1.
The original game is the typical unbalanced NES game where you have to waste a lot of time collecting missiles and health after continuing after a game over with almost no health and ammo and enemies deal way too much damage, it's a mess.

Using a 3ds and an R4i 3ds card.

I have the bios.bin file in the correct place, and the 'gba' folder in the root with a handful of gba roms.

..but while trying both the arm9 and arm7 and with and without the YS menu, the list of games will not appear.

It just loads the purple GBARunner2 Banner with no games to choose.

Any ideas as to why? Thanks!

(I prefer not to attempt Twilight Menu++ as to keep my 3ds un-hacked/homebrewed).

You can install TWiLight Menu++ on your flashcard, if you want to keep your 3DS stock.

Perfect. I hope this solves the problem then.

Looking at the files given I had a question on the 'b4ds' files, any idea what that is?
