Hacking gbamp + moonshell

I have a ds and all And I'd like to get moonshell working on my ds. Do I need a special firmware to run homebrew? Or do I need other hardware like a passkey or something? Also anyone ever try running ds games on it? I have a gbamp v1 the huge cf one.

Sorry to tell you, but homebrew doesn't work on the M1. It's not a gbamp, that's the M2. All you can use is a very old crystal engine for video
