Homebrew gbaemu4ds: GBA emulator for DS(i) (DSi Entry)

Is the graphic better if you use the sc Version and the upper screen on a 3DS

  • I can't do that (have no 3DS) (have not tested that)

Edit : i can't help you to test that ichfly, as i said i don't own any r4i gold.
May i report you any problem i found even if i don't run it on this flashcart ?

Edit 2 : seems that i'm not able to select a bios file once i run a gba game.

OK if you get this "Warning: you try to run gbaemu DS on gbaemu may not work
press A to continue and ignore this"

you can just press A to ignore this warning than it should work

If the loader apply patches to the program like restart hook or other things the program may crash because it us a different Protection Unit configuration than normal homebrew

Update r15 http://ichfly.github.com/gbaemu4DS/

GoldenEye Advance v. 26/11/2009 http://www.dsi-homeb...deneye-advance/ now runs fast

Changelog:
dma speedup
fix in the browseForFile function
fix: swi 6
add: swi 7
add: BIOS_RegisterRamReset(0xFF) at start

Edit 2 : seems that i'm not able to select a bios file once i run a gba game.
You have to select the bios or save file before loading an gba file

Any chance there will be a version for AK2i?
It is open source so you or someone else can do that. I don't have an AK2i.

ADD: if you know a gba homebrew that is less than 2,5 MByte and not working with hyperspeedup and is realy awaysome post it here and I will try to get it working in the emulator

this speedup is for dsi mode i presume.
no

if you mean the Versions of the emulator:
this are only different Version the HWspeedup use the hardware to speed the emulation up.
The HYPERspeedup is a hypervisor that run most games with full speed but not every game work with that currently the max size of a game that run on the HYPERspeedup is 2,5 Mbyte any try to read uppern data will return garbage. I will try to fix this in the next Version.
arm9 is the emulator without any speedup by the hardware.

if you mean the dma speedup in the Changelog:
the dma was emulated by the sofrware now it is emulated by the DS hardware.

ADD: the emulator is no more working in DSi mode.

thanks for the clearer response and

Is it also compaditable with 3DS flashcarts?

What is the last version of this that is DSi Mode?

@ sciencematthew and @Zantigo you two, please stop pestering the guy and let him work.
@ZantigoIf you read the topic(or had some further knowledge together with common sense you would know yes it works with 3DS flashcarts(because of the DS compatibility mode) and @ sciencematthew not really sure so you'll have to search the whole thread to find out.

Ok this makes no sense to me.
How do I use this?
I see a million different downloads and the only ds file i see is hyperspeedup.nds
Can I use this on an R4i-SDHC?

Yes there are also the old Versions of the emulator. Just us the latest hyperspeedup or hwspeedup Version

You have to test if it works on your card.

I have tested it on the r4i gold 3ds from r4ids.cn and all Versions work on that card.

What does the "fps 60/x" do when you start a rom?

That is the speed that the emulator refresh some hw registers. 60 divided by x are the refreshes that are done per second. More refreshes sometimes slowdown or have bad effects but less refreshes make things look bad.
