Sweet - generally and easy solution but more difficult to find.

Your RTSave should also work

the release I have for Wario Land 4 for is (Mode 7) [EUR]
it was the only ver I could find

I tried to make my own back up but messed up, pretty bad

every time I start it with RTS on, the mode 7 intro comes up (thank god you cn just skip this one by pressing start)
then a white screen pops up an nothing but garbled noise
as if you pulled the GBA cart out while playing

Ok so im unfamiliar with how to use the GBA expansion pack in terms of saving...

I'm using Sakura if it makes any difference.

Do i have to patch each gba game for some save feature? or can i enable a save option within sakura?

I have the little save option enabled within sakura as well...

For example, i have Metal Slug GBA but i have to start a new game each time i play and when i try to save it just says 'save aborted'.

Don't you have to do something like turning it off and then going into the settings?

I don't quite understand? Care to explain it to me in a bit more detail?

Right now the GBA save files are *.sav, and they won't recognise when i start up a game.

So can anyone teach me what to do?

Well, i found this after searching around and it seems to work for me

Actually, my friend; that's a negative! Success achieved!

As soon as you said "Patching saves", I thought of the M3Real's GUI and how the GBA mode had 2 boot modes; Patch and Fast load. Looking into the M3 Sakura's OS a little more, I found that if you slide the game to the left, you can get to an options screen that has the option to "Low-Speed Load", which is the same as "Patch-Load" on the M3Real. As soon as I swapped that setting, every game that gave me trouble worked fine.

The only hassle is that you have to set it individually for each game (which entails setting it and then restarting your DS) but it's a small price to pay. Besides, once you set it once it's set for good, so one good 5 min session should have everything you need running. Thanks again for your help, TDM.

As I said in a previous post - Super Mario Advance does not auto save. You have to push Start and then Select either Save and Continue OR save and quite. Just turning it off did nto save for me either.

Weird.

You said you delted all saves etc for it so the only thing have have is teh Super Mario Advance.gba. I did this and it worked all fine when play. It also was teh first game on GBA that I tried RTSave and it worked great.

Maybe you have an issue with your ROM.

When you finish a level and then go Save and Quite. If you go to start you game again without restarting the DS is the save still there showing level 1-1 completed?
