I found my GB Micro recently and found that it doesn't work. I've fully charged the device and get the same result whether its plugged in or not.

Upon turning the device on, the Select and Start buttons will turn blue for 2-seconds and then quickly blink (still blue) three times and 3-seconds following that, the Select/Start led turn off. During this, the back-light comes on, but the display is black. I've already tried replacing the battery.

Anyone here have ideas?

The blinking is standard, it's supposed to do that.

What's odd is the black screen part.
Do you get any sound output from the boot intro?

Nope, no audio aside from the volume/brightness beeps. From most of what I've read, the blinks are red, usually indicating lack or charge/new battery required, for me its blue on both the old and the new batteries.

They wont be red unless the battery drops under a specific voltage, so unless the old batteries don't drop under that voltage the leds will still shine blue.
Do you have the possibility to upload a short video of your problem?

I have no clue what could be causing your problem.

Was it stored at place where it could come in contact with humidity?
If it was then there could be a risk of corrosion on the motherboard.

Sorry for not being able to help you any further, but I'll try to answer your questions if you have any.
