Hello,

I purchased two gateways and I seem to be having a problem with one of the two cards. One seems to work fine and loads my multi-rom menu with all my games visible. However, the second card says "Filesystem error" in the multi-rom menu when I pull it up. I did a diagnostic and it says SD read - Fail on the card but is successful when I try the other working card. Has anyone ran into this before? Could it be a defective gateway since it doesn't appear to be the SD card since it works on the other gateway?

Yeah, it definitely does sound like a defective Gateway, sadly. If at all possible, try to get a replacement from the retailer you got it from.

I emailed the retailer and they advised me to ship it back (at my expense unfortunately) and they will send me a replacement. I originally ordered two, one for me and one for a friend that already had one (for his second 3DS) so luckily I am able to use the one that works :) The retailer said that it is quite rare that they have defective gateways and I haven't seen too many posts about this problem. Thanks for the reply by the way, I believe you are correct.

yes, it is a defective gateway card.
when we test the Gateway 3DS card before shipping,
sometimes meet this "Filesystem error" too,
even though use the same SD card, microSD card with roms, microSD card with blue card files,
or format/change new SD card, microSD memory card ,
the same error message come out all the time , nothing changes.

Thank you for confirming this, it definitely seems to be defective. I notice you sell Gateway cards on your website as well. Out of curiosity, do you normally pay for the shipping back to you if your customers product is defective? Is it normal for the customer to pay shipping in these cases? (I'm assuming that is your website)

for the normally rules , customers pay return shipping fee, and sellers pay reship shipping fees.

Even if you buy something in your local shops(not online), and the product have some quality problems,
you have to drive to the store and do the exchange or repair, right?
It also cost time and money too.

If it cost too much, you can also talk with the seller, you pay a half, seller pay a half return shipping fee.
Business is easy but need more commucation.

You make a very good point.. I guess it is not their fault if gateway sends them a defective product either so it's only fair that I pay the return shipping. I was just curious to see if all the sites were like that or just them. Either way it shouldn't cost me much since it was shipped from my province here in Canada. Thanks again for getting back to me so quickly! Take care.
