"NOTE: We are also working on using Cubic Ninja as a means to load our Gateway menu, please stay tuned for more information soon!"

That's from the gateway website. Hopefully you have a copy of cubic ninja since it sounds like it will be the alt game to use for gateway eventually.
Yeah but it still requires a certain retail game to run the exploit.
Do you know how much this shit will cost from now on?
Cubic Ninja and OoT will now sky-rocket due to demand, and it's not like you will be able to just buy it through eShop to run it neither.

Awful, awful release. Having to insert a separate, rare/expensive game to load the [unfinished] exploit, which itself requires a save dongle or another 3DS juuuuuust to even boot into Gateway mode is downright laughable.

O3DS offline exploit master race.

Decided to buy Cubic Ninja and go back to gatewaiting, didn't wanna pay $100+ for OOT. Do you guys think I'll need a save dongle for the Cubic Ninja exploit or will it just be a QR code exploit?

Looks like it most likely uses the same method as cubic ninja, no idea however. The Save Insert thing will only have to be done once, however, but you will need OOT (and eventually Cubic Ninja) to boot gateway mode.

I'm so glad I got my sky 3ds even tho I have iit and cubic ninja, to many steps ATM I'm just going to stick with sky3ds on n3ds and gateway on o3ds XL and hopefully they make the process faster.

It is already impossible to buy it from the eShop now as it would require an update to 9.5 which is incompatible with GW. Plus Nintendo CAN patch OoT3D as it was developed by themselves, which is not Cubic Ninja's case.

"One example is the paused head tracking and the 3D slider switching incorrectly between 2D and 3D when in Gateway or Classic mode."
Does this mean there is no super stable 3d with this exploit?!!

eShop downloads are not an option, they do need the retail game to load the save file in the New 3DS.
Unless you buy it in 3DS with GW mode and transfer it, but I highly doubt that will work.

Keep in mind that finding a more convenient solution for our New 3DS users will remain a priority task to us.

I just hope they find a solution "soon". XD

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
