Try Dragon Quest Monster Joker and I'm pretty sure there is a dinosour king game to. That should be like Pokemon I guess. Sorry that I'm not much help but I haven't played much games which are the same as Pokemon.

DQM: Joker is a great game graphically, but it's a little lacking in the fun department (just a little)

It's a good game, but you have to have patience to play it. That's your best bet, other than Pkmn itself.
