I'm not sure what team thinks they can whip out a cart that fast. Its possible they're just ordering R4iDSN's or Cyclo iEVO's.

They forgot to mention whether it will be for DSmode, or 3DSmode.
It's likely they're just calling it a 3DS flashkit for attention/sales

I'd assume this is what they mean. If an exploit was announced, it wouldn't be casually stated like this. They just want people to know they can buy DS mode flashcarts for 3DS.

It's a shame, actually. Even though it's ironic that I'm supposed to review the newest 3DS flashcarts, I don't want to see something so good get rolled out after a few days. If 3DS mode is cracked, it means devs don't want to focus all their effort into making good games...

The 3DS has been on the market for a little over 24 hours, and already DS mode has been bypassed. I really have high hopes and I don't want to see it get hacked so quickly. It looks even worse on Nintendo's end.

As I said, the system hasn't even been on the market for a week yet and people already want to ruin it with flashcards. It's pathetic really and will only ruin the system more and more, unless Nintendo stops them and I really hope Nintendo does stop them.
It's also pretty bad on the Temp end for encouraging this.

Well several reasons. One if they hack the system this early no one is going to want to work on it for fear of their games being pirated, even just a simple DSMode hack is dangerous since it still looks bad on Nintendo's end. No one is going to at a DSMode hack, they are going to want a 3DS hack and if that get done with in the 1st year of the 3DS then there is no future for the 3DS. It's as simple as that. These will be the death of the 3DS.

Piracy doesn't ruin a system, guys. I'm really not sure where you're getting that. I can't think of a successful console/handheld where piracy wasn't possible. Pirating may have gotten more popular lately, but it's still performed by a small niche crowd.

And why is anyone surprised at a pro-hacking sentiment by users here? What draws people to this site in the first place is information on how to pirate. There's definitely going to be interest in hacking the 3DS, even from day one.

Oh my god, are you 12?

Flashcarts steal, no. Not steal. They snatch the sales from companies and then throw them away.
No sales = no money. No money = no interest. No interest = no games. No games = a pointless, thus ruined console.

I also have faith , we simply dont know what is behind the 3DS mode in terms of security , it is sad to say but nintendo could not care less about DS games anymore , most of the games coming out for DS are the last ones and most are low value or more budget titles pokemon black and white and layton are the last real money ds games.

everything else makes little money for nintendo now , the pokemon DSi was already out , it was just never on sale until now you could only win it in Japan.

I expect because of this nintendo purposely did not put much security behind DS mode , but 3DS mode i expect will be running off one of the chips and that will most likely carry a ton of encypted and protected files along with various like voltage and intergrity checks.

Was the DS hacked the first week it came out?

Also, for users of the NDS, it became really mainstream to have a flashcard, like never before on a portable device. And all those people are going to want one for the 3DS too. = ruined console.

Point. However; I doubt Nintendo will miss this one... I suspect there's a reason several features have been stalled... it's to test the 3DS' security and then carpet bomb the hackers with the may update. Theory, mind...

Thing is , the videos work fine in the Edge Dev and Canary builds. But whatever the fix they made was, has never been pushed to Beta or Stable builds. Its been that way for as far back as I tested. Which was Edge 84. They are on 125 now.

@RedColoredStars, Yeah, and I was in quite a mood at that time. I would consider choosing Firefox or Opera instead, been using Firefox for over 7 years now than Chrome.
  • RedColoredStars @ RedColoredStars:
Tried contacting Nintendo to see if they can reach out to MS about it. But Nintendo said the videos are working fine. Without enough people saying no, they don't work fine, it will never get fixed.

I have Firefox and used it for many years. But Edge runs noticible faster on my pc at both opening and loading pages.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
I don't think Nintendo will know anything about troubleshooting Edge. They mostly do technical support regarding their console family.

Right. But they could create a ticket that gets forwarded to the proper team. I think Nintendo would care that their videos aren't working on a major browser
