Hey,
Anybody playing dmg games?
What you playing at the moment?
I've just got into retro gaming and I'm looking to play the games from my childhood.
Currently, I'm playing Final Fantasy Adventure. It's a lot better on an ips screen than the original screen!

Hello and welcome.:)
Personally I often return to play Micro Machines 1/2, B. Bunny 's Crazy Castle Series, Dr. Mario and, in general, simple puzzle games.
Although I own a 30-year-old DMG, in order not to lose what little sight I still have (), I prefer to play these games on DS Lite through Lameboy (emulator).

I just finished Final Fantasy Legend 1, then I'm taking a bit of a break and then I'll play Final Fantasy Legend 3 (I played the second one first to see if I liked the series since I'd heard it was so weird).

I played Final Fantasy Adventure a little while ago and really liked it, so I went through Secret of Mana and Trials of Mana (SNES version) after that. I think the first one was my favorite, despite its simplicity. I liked seeing how different things carried through from game to game in the series.

If you haven't played Gargoyle's Quest for the Gameboy yet, I highly recommend it. You just need to tough it out for the first level, then the game gets more fun.

I had totally forgot about micro machines! I put so many hours into that game when I was a kid
I played Gargoyles quest. It took me ages to get past the first level and get the password. After that I spent a little time fighting the same scenarios and it soon got annoying. Maybe I should have stuck with it to see how it changed?

Yeah it sounds like you've experienced the two bummers at the start of Gargoyle's Quest, so hopefully it'll be smooth sailing from there! The first level is a bit of a learning cliff, but once you suffer through it you'll have learned the skills you need to get you going with the rest of the game. The random battles are only for grinding for money to buy extra lives, so try not to get bogged down there as best you can. If you make it to the first town you'll get sent off towards the next level which hopefully you'll find easier to deal with than the first one.

It's a challenging game, but a fair one. The sequel on NES is quite similar and also lots of fun. The third (and final) game in the series on SNES is pretty different which may or may not be to your taste after the first two.

But IMO the Gameboy one is the best of the series, and easily in my top 5 Gameboy games.

You may not know that Makaimura Gaiden on DMG, the sequel to Gargoyle's Quest, was translated into english a few years ago.
It is a port of the nes version but with 2 new levels added.

If either of you is interested, I am attaching the translation patch (.bps format).

Oh cool, I didn't know it was translated into English. I'll add that to my list of reasons to get a GB Everdrive :). Thank you!
