Please search a little bit on this forum before asking such a general question in this thread

Thanks.

Sorry for asking here but sometimes threads I dig up in search are old and I'm not sure if the emulators are compatible with the newer stuff. I just wanted a fresh answer without clogging this place up with another new thread.

Couple of Qs - Only about GBA mode:

How is the PC transfer software when it comes to backing up the saves?

Does the G6L still do that horrible "udisk then copy across memory" thing or is the 512MB direct access?

Thanks

Videos are coming soon, my camera is not so good with movies, but at least you can see/hear it in action.

Just did the castlevania test:
supercard minisd + 512mb sandisk minisd card = lots of stuttering in the intro movie
g6 lite = perfect, movie plays really smooth, no stuttering at all

I tried both Sandisk 512mb minisd and kingston 512mb minisd, both are the same (bad)

While the replay of the Castlevania video is indeed bad, it's been beaten to death both here and on the official EZ forums - The problem is not so much the speed of the memory card as it is the methods used by the software for playing games. While a faster card will help a little bit, full speed can be achieved using the EZ4 lite and a regular speed memory stick. Before that happens, the EZ team needs to improve their coding and method for patching games. The actual speed of any transflash chip used with the EZ4 lite gives a faster read speed than the DS can even read at. That's proof alone that the bottleneck lies in the programming.

Hopefully the EZ team will figure this out and optimize their code.

IMO the only thing stopping me from picking this thing up is the limited storage & questionable GBA compatibility

If it were 1GB, I'd be all over this like flies on shit.

EDIT: I know this is a non-issue for some, I'm afraid of bigger carts = decreased experience.

I'm with you on the hold ups. I wish it was 1gb but I really think that 512 is enough, I really don't need every game with me at once and if I can't carry them all at once I might actually beat a couple of them. As for the GBA compatibility, I've heard that it's great but the saves are very tempermental, as in they will work then not and then currupt themselves. I plan on getting it and then emailing them constantly to fix the saves as they believe on the m3-forum that it is a quite fixable problem.
