Hacking Future of Slot-2

Is there any future for it? According to SC forums support has been stopped already.
Is anyone planning to make independent soft? Or patches?

I would have loved a sdhc drag and drop for gba. Slot two's are never coming back though. You can get a good slot one for less than ten dollars so there's no motivation to update the old cards.

The Slot 2 cards are done for, Slot-1 is perfect for DS games with easy firmware updates, and no patching for roms or homebrew, whilst the EZ Flash 3in1 is the perfect companion to play GBA games, and the DSTwo has a GBA emulator.

There's just no place for Slot-2 cards any more, which is sort of a shame because they are actually AWESOME rom dumping utilities.
