Thanks very much! The pallet looks great. Could you make me a grayscale pallet as well?
I'm really busy today. I just got done updating my wardrobe for only $150, and I have to go to baseball practice later. Hopefully I will have some time later, so I can start making some sprites. See ya later!
EDIT: After playing with 256 for a little longer, I think I can still make some pretty good sprites for the game. I will have to completely change how I do all of the shading effects on the sprites, but this new technique makes them look a lot better than before. Here is an example, a completely redrawn fretboard.
I'll do my best to explain how I did this. To stretch the use of the few amount of colors (the black part of the fretboard only contains three different colors), I mixed the colors at as small a scale as possible to emulate the shading of the fretboard on the left. Even though the middle fretboard only contains three different colors (in the background), the way I shaded it makes your brain think there are more colors, kinda like how games on the original gameboy are shaded. Anyway I hope you like it.
*note* For those of you that don't understand all of this, the fretboard on the right is of an image quality that is just too much for the ds to handle. The one on the right is what the ds does to the high-quality fretboard. This new fretboard (middle) is of the same quality as the one on the right, but looks much better. The middle fretboard will not lose any quality at all when put on the ds.
I'm still kinda busy right now, but I'm going to redraw any sprites that don't look very good in their current state. It should not take me very long (the middle fretboard took a lot less time to draw than the one on the left).
EDIT2: I noticed that the new 256 images don't lose any quaility when I post them here, so there should be no need to email you the sprites, wazmo.
EDIT3 (Where is everyone?): Ok. I just made a new version of the guitar. I think that it looks even better than the first one I made. Here it is. I didn't remake the strings, because doing so wouldn't change the way they look too much. Wazmo, you do still have the screens with just the strings right? I'd like to see the strings move in the next demo.
I'm not going to change the fret buttons or gems, because they look fine already. I'm not sure if I'll do more today, but if I do, I'm going to make the menus. Please tell me what you think of this new style of shading. Thanks.
