Hey everyone! I went to sleep really early, so I back really early, too.
Anyway, I just made the song choice menu. Here it is.
I used the same irregular style as the title screen, so I think it looks good. I also included a couple of screens to show wazmo where the song names are supposed to fit within the tiles. Hope that helps.
Since I'm here I figured that I would answer some of your questions.
@abridgedravemaster
Yes! Although not implemented yet, custom songs are the main reason why this project was started.
@eldhand
I'm sure I speak for wazmo as well as myself when I say that we will not stop making this awesome game until it is completely finished.
@Icey
Again, no, custom songs are not in the game yet, but at the lightning fast pace we are moving, it should not take very long.
@alex, Chris5, and Dizwix
Thank you all so much! I'm am really happy to see this project have so many fans. I can't wait until it is finished.
EDIT: Here is the new 256 rock meter. It is much easier to tell which light is lit in these new sprites.
@wazmo
I would like to see the fretboard moving in the next demo. It does not have to match the speed of the notes yet, but I just want to see how it looks when it moves.
EDIT2: I just made the flame that pops up when you hit a note. Here it is.
I know it is hard to see, but it is outlined in red, so that it stands out against the fretboard. Hope you like it.
EDIT3: Wow, where is everyone? Anyway, I just made the little sparks that fly up when you hit a held note. They look a little bad when they are not animated, but when they are, they look great. I also fixed a few hiccups in the notes and redid the held note lines. The new notes are on the bottom. It is hard to tell what I changed if you don't really look, but the newer ones will look a lot better on the ds, trust me. Here they are.
EDIT3: I decided to make some new note sprites. They look a lot better now.
I'm gonna take a break for now, but when I come back I'm going to redraw the frets. See ya!
