Ok i checked all over the site to make sure this isnt old. i hope im not late again
thats about $330.

$300 dollars seems more and more likely for U.S. price, but maybe nintendo might give the U.S. a break like they did with monster hunter tri. Japan had to pay for online, U.S. didnt need to. I hope that they put that idea in there head. anyway here u go

I agree, $300 or maybe $320 is the most likely price we are going to get. Since US dollars is getting weaker as we speak and Yen is growing stronger, selling 3DS for 200~299 price range will not yield a profit for Nintendo of America.

European prices are usually higher than American prices (tax

), and Nintendo's consoles usually cost in Euros in Europe what they do in dollars in the US (the DSi XL is $169 in America and 169 Euros in Europe), so if the 3DS is expected to cost 250 Euros in Europe, it might cost $250 in America.

The Japanese price isn't really indicative, because popular electronics cost even more in Japan than they do in Europe, so the European and American price isn't a simple conversion. For example, the DSi LL is ? 16600 in Japan, and that's $200. Sure, the Yen used to be lower, but then again the DSi LL used to cost ? 18000.

True, US price does not include sales tax, but think about it. Let's say 3DS is $250. In California our sales tax range from 9.25% to 10.25%.

So $250 + $23.13 = $273.13.

You got to factor sales tax into account for US.

Also when Wii came out it is priced approx $215 in Japan but $249 in US. You can argue that they didn't include Wii Sports in Japan.

25000 Yen in Japan
$250 in America,
€250 in Euro countries in Europe
2500 SEK in Sweden.
As always: just play around with the zeros.

This in USD:
Japan: $362
America: $250
Euro-countries: $331
Sweden: $362

I don't get all the speculation really... Stop comparing over sea prices to determine your own... Just play around with the zeros more or less.

I disagree with playing with zero to determine the price.

We are speculating the price because price is a factor that consumers consider when buying stuff.

I'll still buy one in the US if it's $300. I want one so bad, and I have plenty of money set aside for the system, launch titles, and accessories.

However, I just can't see Nintendo charging $300 in the US, since it would be their most expensive system to date, especially for a handheld. If it does cost that much, then Nintendo will be sending the message that they believe in the quality of the 3DS. Hopefully this mindset will tranfer over to their next home console, and we'll get a true next generation Wii (or whatever).

Ah Okay.

After some research I found that the wii was: $250, €250, ¥25000
but the gamecube was actually: $199, €199, ¥25000
The DS: $149, €149, ¥19000
The DSL: $129, €149, ¥16800

and so on... I guess I was wrong in my argument

But i still THINK that it will be those prices

Remember, our Wiis had Wii Sports. Japan's did not. That boosted our prices a tad.
Well yeah, but the usd and euro got them more yen back then.
I'd go with the 0 argument.
We'll know the euro price on jan 19th.
