I bet this wiki list is so ancient that everything on it has long been out of production and out of stock.
As for your selections, just flip a coin and pick something.
Or search the forums for the recommended/mentioned enclosure chipsets . I think one of the lastest was ASM1153/ASM1153E. If it is mentioned then it must work.
And look for an enclosure with such chipset. It's going to be hard to find, though. Sellers never write what chip is inside.
So buy any of them already.

So buying any of these should be ok.

I could only find one enclosure with that chipset locally but it’s for 2.5 inch hdds…

Thanks for the help!

Is there any hidden meaning behind buying an enclosure for a 3.5" HDD?
I hope you don't plan to stick fancy ultramodern disk of incredible volume into it. Do not forget about the limitations imposed by the use of FAT32 MBR on it.
Or is it just because of the external power supply?

Nah, it’s just the cheapest HDD I could get my hands on, plus the external power supply.

I looked at what I have in my enclosures, which worked successfully for me with my Wii:
One turned out to be a no-name generic device on the ASMedia ASM1051 chip (ASM1051/ASM1053 family).
Second one is Orico 2599US3 with the Norelsys NS1066 chip.

As I understand, devices on your list are based on:
1. ASMedia ASM1153E
2. ASMedia ASM1153E
3. idk
4. ASMedia ASM1153E (this one even have firmware update on site)

Can you send the website links? Especially the last one, I want to look at them.
