Hacking Formatting system on emunand?

I want to unlink sysnand and emunand. However, instead of formatting sysnand, I would like to format emunand. I'm not talking about installing emunand as google seems to think, so I was unable to find information about it. Is it possible? If I open up the settings menu, and the version says "GW3D 9.2", and I select "Format System Memory" will it format and unlink emunand from sysnand while keeping sysnand as it is?

EDIT: I tried it and it worked fine. Would delete this post if I could
