If you could just use Flatmii from the USB, without installing the chip, I'd be the first one buying it. But I'm too afraid to open up my wii. If I ever break it, My life would be over.

You would still have us =)

meh. who wants us? rofl

So after installation how does this hook up to the PC? Do you hook it into a USB port in the back, or is there some other method?

EDIT: Found out it loads from the USB. My question is why isn't the software hosted on their site yet? It should be hosted there if they want to prove it's not fake. Also, if this is real, in time it should be another way to dump DVD games since the drive is hooked right up to the PC. Correct me if I'm wrong.

TATSUNOKO VS CAPCOM FTW!!!!!!!!

Whats up with everyone and that game...
I just had a look at the character list and it's just so crap...

its actually becoming one of the most fun new party games around the wii.
trust me at least when i say that TvC is really really fun.

1) its not too difficult to master. (if you have played at lease ONE street fighter game your good)
2) its new
3) from what ive seen so far its pretty balanced between newbs. (cept for tekkaman ((sp?))

@dnmn8e and others I kindly invite you to read about scrubbing wii isos:
http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=752...t=0&start=0
As far anyone knows scrubbed isos are transparent (can be detected) by the wii and even in the event they somehow could it would be a software thing (look how successful software updates have been thus far to the determined).

Add the iso into a isz format (zipped iso) image (think zip within a zip) and stick it on one of the many mounting tools......

yeh i actually did that this morning, i saved 18Gb on 8 games, which to me actually says that wii games are alot less than they could be (except metroid, thats just pure awesome)

all though scrubbing wii isos isn't a good idea IMO at least with wii games that need certain ios's to work.
as it's some times hard to find the ios's needed online not to mention illegal(cuz it's nintendo code) most early games it's safe to do.
though i don't know of many games that require a specific ios it's always best to check if they do before you scrub them.

I always found IOS are easy to come by yet you make an odd distinction: IOS are given away (not to mention embedded in a disc) while games are not.

Secondly scrubbing merely replaces the high entropy junk with easily compressible 00's, nothing more. Ridding yourself of the update partition (or code within it) and other things is not scrubbing in the strictest sense although I believe the tool has the functionality so you are right to suggest care is warranted.

yeah your right i was thinking more along the lines of brick blocking lol

i need to sleep more insomnia is a brain cell killer.

But why plug this into the Wii? The drive connector yes, but why into one of the Wii's usb ports? I hope that's not required as this should be detectable by nintendo.

just for tidyness i suppose... to keep the wire in place. it also says 'if desired' so im guessing its optional

Well if it's optional a Wii application sending .iso requests over usb to the pc would be nice. Your pc sends a list of known .isos on your HDD over usb to a channel which lets you select which .iso to load *dreaming*. This would be worth 50 Euro for me, if you are only able to select the .iso at your pc, then less than 50 Euro.

linux on ps3< with wine --> emulating the software --> hdd connected to ps3 --> flatmii connected to ps3 -->profit ! lol so im going to use my ps3 as "the computer "

Nice power consumption then:

It can't do that. This has nothing to do with the Wii's USB, the Wii doesn't even know it's installed.

You could potentially have a channel that talks over the network to an application running on the PC to do what you want though.
