Wow, that's retarded. $100? Even $60. Granted, it just came out, but still...

it costs what like $1 to make this device? Come on. $50 would've been an appropriate price.

Anyways, I'm not getting one until it's reviewed and confirmed by at least one "objective" review, preferebly gbatemp

Usally $ price without taxes = Euro price with taxes.
Wii: 250 $ -> 250 Euro

Thanks for the tip, but even with taxes the price is still way too high.
The product would have to perform well for me to consider it at $50-60. $100 is just too much considering the market.

I'm sure "alternatives" will popup

It lists modchipcentral as a reseller but flatmii is nowhere on their website. That's kind of weird...

it is probably being tested by them, or they still havent got them yet.

I want one of these so badly. With that being said; I'm definitely going to hold of until a cheaper revision and/or competing product comes out. I also wanna find out how well the PC side software is.

On a side note: While i am aware that there is a severe lack of information on this product does anyone have any idea whether this would also work as a modchip i.e. allow me to boot backup DVD-Rs?

Easy. It wouldn't.

To get me to buy this they would have to make it standalone with an USB HDD and a channel where you can select your games in. But even then I would pay 50€ max.

I think it would be extremely useful if they could make this a modchip for backup DVDs (like what samagon said) and be able load games from a PC/HDD. No idea if thats possible though.

I would like to either A)boot from a hard drive or even a USB flash drive, or B) remember the game that you upload to the chip so that if you don't feel like turning on your computer but you want to play the game that was loaded up last time, you can without having to go to the computer first.

And no support for Linux or OSX?

wait a month or two and there will be 10 other devices almost exactly like this one floating around for half the price. once another group clones it that price wont last long

don't worry about the price,
within a few days, there will be chinese products that will do the same thing but at dirt cheap price lol.
quality will be questionable at best, but still, there will be much cheaper alternatives very soon.

Seems like everyone on GBAtemp has less and less money everyday! How did you guys afford the Wii to begin with? Ahh thats right, santa got it for you (I joke, I joke)

never have people complaining about solderless d2pros etc, and they are only $15 less. We sell over 30 a day, every damn day!

Prices are in AUD, and also 10% GST, that international customers don't pay, its deducted at checkout.

Refurbished wii DVD drives are cheap, yes - but they usually have a 3rd party laser replacement in there, so how long is that going to last?

Thanks for taking time oz m8 to point out the obvious, and also to semi confirm this is real.

I will be getting one without a doubt, I have a wiikey, 4 wiimotes, 4 nunchucks, 3 SD cards, god knows how many GC pads etc etc.

This will be one of my favourite things once released and seriously, seriously a great things as it tackles one of the many BIG issues presented by Nintendo (weak motors in some drives).

So oz....do we gbatempers get a discount from you m8?

Free registered post is always valid for gbatemp members
for orders over $50 or so

GbatWC i think it is

makes it.... $95 aud inc postage to your door

66usd
47 euro
45.5 Gbp

etc

That ain't that bad is it?

The product is expensive, there is no price fixed conspiricy between retailers

If you are waiting for something else -- please tell me you are waiting for solution for some feature you think it missing...
Don't wait for a cloned producted, this kind of product is one that will probably need software support, something you don't get with cloned products

So I take it you will be carrying these FlatMii kits in stock as well as your drivechips? Total assumption.. I just can't wait to see which outsells the other when this ball gets rolling pretty good...

OK, when I see a pretty solid average price, on the FlatMii's I will purchase one without hesitation.

Yeah, of course
flatmii is a neiche market, and will never ever outsell drive chips
you guys gotta realise by being on a forum, you read, and learn, etc

Lots of people don't care about what goes into their wii, as long as it "works" when you put the disc in.
