Excuse my ignorance, but how does this work?

Using the browser exploit, you can run a kernel exploit, which disables memory protection and lets you patch system libraries. We patch the FS functions so it tries to load files from over the network, rather than the disc/disk (this is Cafiine). Once you can do that, you just stick edited files on your computer and the game will use them.

Really cool, nice job. I hope to see some 3d land hack also soon. Do they not use the same file extension :PP almost.?

This is one of the reasons I can't wait to use Cafiine. Unfortunately, I'm on the latest firmware so I'll probably have to drop money to get an older one that has an older firmware, as well as disc-based versions of games I want to mod (Since I already own them, but as digital copies).

The team is working to get 5.4.0 running with the exploit, but it will be quite some time before it's done.

The hype is real

Did anyone ever make level mods for galaxy 2? I know Chadderz did a multiplayer mod that was never released.
I mean, I did it for 4 years before all this so yeah :P

3DL uses byml, but 3DW has byml, but they're BYAML.
Same format, but 3DS uses little endian instead of big

I was looking the other day, but I only found the Multiplayer mod. I just assumed your 2.5 mod was unreleased or unfinished.

So Im gonna play the shit out of it

2.5 died and was resurrected several times. At this point, the three of us have pretty much moved on to Wii U hacking.

So is this ran through a back up or just over an original disc copy of SM3DWorld or maybe a download version from e-shop on your home menu?
