Hi,

Is it possible to extract firmware updates from wii discs and install them with HBC?
i want to update a 3.1E Wii console to 4.0 using Waninkoko's 4.0 updater in HBC.
when i load the 4.0 updater, it gives me a "code dump" when checking the internet connection (wich is fine btw cause i used it to install the cIOS36 rev9 installer)
This is a 3.1E console without the Opera Browser and Shopchannel.

It looks like Waninkoko's 4.0 updater wont work on a 3.1E console...
(see my post here: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=145361)

i want to update the 3.1E console to 3.2E.

Download and run AnyRegionChanger and just leave the region to default (in your case Europe) and it will update your wii to version 3.2

If you wanted to, it's safe to update to 4.0 using the official nintendo method, just remember to have cios version 7 or higher installed first then afterwards you just need to install a patched IOS60 and then 4.0 is completely safe to use.
