Final Fantasy games are not short. So while big titles from other developers might be clocking in at somewhere between 7 and 9 hours, don't expect a brief Final Fantasy XIII experience. Expect a long haul.

In a recent interview, FFXIII director Motomu Toriyama noted, "For XIII, the size of the entire game is considerable. Just running through the main story takes experienced players over 50 hours. For the first time, I think it's possible to play through in full in about 60 hours or so."

Meaty! Players have been waiting three years for this game, and it sounds like they've got a big game ahead of them to experience.
Source.

Usually when ever they say stuff like this it's usually half the amount of time.

Gotta love lengthy RPG's.
I really love it when you have a great game that has a length of around 50 hours.
Oblivion is one of those games I just can't get tired of, love it.

For a final fantasy it's quite certainly believable.
Although the majority that usually complain that a game is half the amount of time does their best to skip through fucking everything.

Yeah I got 50 hours easy on Tales of Vesperia and that was just with a basic playthrough. 50 should be the standard for RPGs like these.

Eh, everytime someone states how long a game takes to finish, I have the game finished in a third of their estimate.

Although apparently GTA: San Andreas was around 50-60 hours long plus a lot more. And also, it is a console game. Depending on how good online play is on console games, they can last hundreds upon hundreds of hours. I mean, sure it's an RPG, but with some handheld RPGs lasting at least 20 hours (like Pokemon, depending on how obsessed you are with it), this isn't "OMG SQUARE IS THE BEST."

Anyway, Final Fantasy, I couldn't care less. It's not what it used to be and is just mostly flair and fanboys.

Thats pretty normal, compared to FFX-2, where I clocked well over 100 hours

Then again, SE made getting a 100% file in that game such a whore

1000 hrs is crazy lol though blitzball isnt
i agree tht this is great but it means tht the side quests and side stuff is less than its predecessor, FF12
tht game was and is pretty huge, i havent completed it (cuz then i wont have an FF to play on the PS2 and other reasons) but have already reached 110 hrs... (i am going to pharos now which is still quite a distance away from the end)
this is mainly due to the fact tht the bazaar demands a lot esp since the map is pretty huge
this title is typical FF length and thts great

P.S - FF games are overhyped but the game still remains as good as it is seen just like Zelda and others games of tht sort
