Hey with FF VIII Remastered released last night I went to play and requires a firmware update i'm on 7.0.0 atm (was 5.1.0) but used ChoiDujourNX to auto-RCM. Any idea which firmware I will have to use with ChoiDujourNX to get final fantasy VIII remastered to play?

Thanks

Update your firmware to 8.1.0 via choidujourNX.

it asks for 8.1.0 but can still run on 7.0.0 if you install it using ignore firmware requirement

you can tell which keys are used with switch backup manager. I saw that astral chain was signed with 7.0.0, so I assume the same for final fantasy viii, which I have. I'm on the latest firmware though.

With what OS? I use SX OS atm
doesn't matter as long as you install it using goldleaf and choose ignore firmware and not the default SX installer
I didn't try ffviii yet, but as godreborn said astral chain is having similar requirement and it runs on SX OS on 7.0.1

Not everything is perfect when you ignore required firmware. I recommend updating to 8.1.0 at least on emunand

@lwiz, Most games I have installed on my PS3 required hen to be enabled, even the ones with netplay

I wish we had high speed rail here in the US rather than the shitty slow commuter trains we have everywhere

@Sicklyboy, I doubt the subway here works nowadays

@Sicklyboy, and I read that there used to be a non-subway railway in the early 1900s

Always sad to see public infrastructure fall into disrepair :(

@Xdqwerty Just avoid cheats etc - can't remember the games with outright bans but the info should be here on GBATemp, although possibly a bit scattered. Hmmmm, never used HEN as my PS3's are all CFW, but with CFW you can just disable all CFW functions after mounting the game (and you can start the FPKG's with CFW disabled as well. I tend to have "helper" account on my PS3's for doing the CFW stuff and then just swith over to paly account after disabling CFW. Extra hassle, but I like it that way.

@Sicklyboy where i live, old infrastructure gets torn down just so they can build the same thing again

@bowlerhat I have couple of later date phatties, 2 slims. Prolly makin the newest slim my "daily driver" and converting the phat at home into DEX unit. Another phat is loaned out for long time and one slim is residing at my parents for little bro and his kid
  • bowlerhat @ bowlerhat:
@Xdqwerty i mean it works so i don't complain in terms of cleanliness
