WTF?!?!? You fixed all crashes?

I thought you were gonna reply and say "Sorry, there's no way to fix some crashes."

You kick arse, deufeufeu.

I'm gonna go translate some more!

Many thanks for this great release!

I really needed my SRPG fix, without the 6-8 month waiting period...

The process worked just fine for me with 256MB of RAM. I got the 110MB file and all was well. Congratulations on a fine job!!

Are you sure you patched the right file (the one with the "e" at the end of the filename)? I've got that black screen using the rom without the enlarger, just applying the patch.

Try using the R4 Rom trimmer (v. 2.0) before using the enlarger

No, you have to patch the clean and not trimmed rom.
I didn't try to patch a trimmed one, but even if it works, it's always better to use clean rom for a patch.

Original is
128Mo, or 134 217 728 (but it's listed 128Mo/Mbytes, as 1Mo = 1024 bytes)

110Mo, or 116 116 268 (but it's listed 110Mo/Mbytes, as 1Mo = 1024 bytes)

So, 110 or 116 is good to patch. I don't know why it's freezing and you have a black screen.
the ppf patching process says patched successfuly ? (maybe there's no check included)

Edit : corrected
tongue.gif

you are right
134 217 728 is 128M

Yes, that's the overlapping problem we mentioned.

We translated without testing in game, so we see now that the item's name have to be less or exactly 10 letters long.
you can see, counting the space as a character, that until the "o" in Down, it's 10 letters.

We are actually retranslating some names to better fit. but we can't shorten them all.

I've fixed all crashes, I might do a bugfix release.

Please!
biggrin.gif

This patch rocks too much! I just cant wait to use it, but the status/new-job crash blocks the game flow.
I have a few crashes now and then in the shops as well (some people on gamefaqs boards have them too), as i reported in the wiki. Im using a real DS with R4, not emulator. I dont know if you found any causes for it yet, but even so, this dont blocks the game, as i can just swap roms when i need to do a long shop run and then come back to the patched one, but a bugfix release for the battle crashes would be very nice =)

I guess theres no problem in abreviating names. Everyone will know that a Phoenix Down even if its writen as Phnx. Down or the likes.
If you want any help in abreviating or shortening itens, quest names and the likes, i will gladly do it, as long as they are translated already, as my japanese is very limited.

I have never had those shop freezes happen to me and I am using a R4. So I don't know what it is that causing it.

It varies but over 100mb should be ok as long as you have patched it right.

Ps Any help shortening items and mission will help and won't need japanese skill for example if you look how much I have done and I don't know any japanese at all.

Then i will use up the free time i just got now to do it.
Just give me pointers about how many characters are possible for each kind?
itens = 10
quests = 16?
jobs = 10 as well?
abilities = ?

and such...

Also some things are really impossible, so its ok if a abbreviate?
I guess its better to see an abbreviated name then to see it messed up with the next line's characters.

116 116 278 octets (or bytes) seems to be one of the correct sizes.

If another patch is made, will the old saves still be compatible with the newly patched gamefile?

    @Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

    @SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

    anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

    if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

    Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    @BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
    You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
    still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
    i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
