Ok i am just wondering since i got my new pc i was taking on some heavy emulating on older games and i came across a high res fan made remake of LOZ:MM and it looked pretty good when compared to the regular game on my pc.So it got me to thinking is there any more of these floating around that anyone knows of such as other zeldas or final fantasys (ps2 era and down)

And it doesn't work for all games.
replaced textures have a limited size, and sometime the game itself un-scale it back so you don't see any differences (like Zelda Skyward Sword).

no, because it didn't work, but users tried to make one because the default texture are ridiculously small and pixelated.
But the game downscale them so we don't see any advantage. (unless we can hack the texture engine itself instead)

Though, there's maybe a pack for Xenoblade which I already saw a screenshot.
Edit: there is, check this post

Why does the game downscale them, if I may ask?

And I agree, the graphics are ridiculously pixelated in that game. The art style is cool, but I really don't see where people get this idea that it's the prettiest looking Zelda game, or the prettiest looking Wii game. I'm sorry, but those titles go to Wind Waker and Super Mario Galaxy respectively, in my opinion.

I think it's part of the algorithm used to make the blurry-bullet effect when in the distance, so the game need to use all textures of the same size to apply the same value/effect. (that's only my supposition)

I feel that Nintendo's biggest mistake with the "impressionist painting" idea (even though it was a cool concept) was that the "up close" bits didn't look that much different from the "faraway" bits thanks to the heavy pixelation.

That said, the 480p component cable really, REALLY does help quite a bit.
