Gaming Fallout 3 crashes on Win8

I started playing Fallout 3 GOTY edition on pc. I can sometimes play normally for 2-3 hours and then everything freezes and i have to restart pc. Sometimes after 5-10 min it freezes. I tryed playing it in Administator mode and in combatility with Win XP, after that its still freezes. The game is downloaded not from steam. What can i do about it?

Go to the Fallout3 folder in Documents/My Games, open up "FALLOUT.ini", and set the following values:

bUseThreadedAI=1
iNumHWThreads=2

If they're not located in your FALLOUT.ini, copy and paste those in under the [General] heading.

This should help fix crashes with Fallout 3 on Windows 8+

So i did that and i was playing normally for half a day at least. And then i got crash, but i've never got crash only freezes.

Are you running any mods at all? If so, try disabling some one at a time, see if any of them are causing the crash.

Both should help immensely with crashes, for the most part.
