Hacking fake gateway 3ds

Bought mine from ML as well, but it's genuine, works fine with Omega and has a longer pin, so tough luck there, specially since the seller had very good reputation. Contact him and try to have it replaced I suppose, otherwise you could try opening a complaint with ML, but tbh I doubt it will do much good, but it's worth a shot. =\

guys whoever thinks the shorter pin was just a revision is wrong the only revisions gateway has released were in the blue card and the packaging that the gateways were comming in there is no longer pin or shorter pin revision there is only one official gateway and that is the one with the longer pin...however looking at that picture on the first page of this thread of the evo3ds...and the clone gateway makes me wonder if the evo3ds is a relabel of the cloned gateway 3ds it has the black pcb...the shorter 8th pin....i wish i could see some pictures of someones gateway thats fake... just the pcb

Aren't there two versions of gateway? One with a spring loaded micro-sd slot and one that's not?

I might be wrong but all official gateway cards should be able to run omega...i and a friend both installed it no problem through the first try i see people on here going i did it 6 times and it finally worked! if there is a non spring loaded one...i wish i had it aslong as it were an official cart im sure however that would be the only diffrence... i doubt the hardware itself other than the sd card slot is any diffrent

It's reading my Gateway card, but I keep getting an error when trying to update... Is anyone else experiencing these issues? Is my card a fake? (I preordered my Gateway from realhotstuff.com before the card even released. I find it very unlikely for it to do a clone.)

That is most strange. My GW card looks identical to yours (the pins anyway) and I was able to update it properly.

Here's what I would recommend. Download the Omega files from two different sources. Compare their checksums to make sure they are both identical. If not, there is a good indication that something is wrong somewhere. Heck forget about that. The checksum for the omega launcher.dat is 84a17fd6a781a3aacdc4f82a3b3c4c87.

It's obvious that Omega is having problems with some models of the carts. Don't be reluctant in emailing Gateway, they are not going to kill you just for reporting a problem without being a beta tester.

At least I read that someone else already forwarded this same problem to them.

Checked the 3 I bought from www.modchipcentral.com, all real. I haven't updated any of them though, still running 2.01b no emunand.
