Hi everyone,
New here but I could really use the help. So I bought myself a used 3DS XL that has the "error has occurred" issue. I'd like to do a factory reset so I can system update but I can't get into system settings. I have also tried the button combination (LB+RB+UP+A) while booting the device but I get stuck on a black screen

.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

If you can't return it to the shop or whoever sold it to you, I personally would call Nintendo and see if they can setup a repair. I've usually had pretty good luck even on out of warranty systems.

The obvious downside is if you send it in for repair, it'll come back with 9.5 firmware, but even that's better than a system that you can't use ;)
