Hi ya'll I recently obtained this flash card with a peculiar attribute, it has two clickable buttons above the sticker! What could they be for? Unfortunately when I booted the card the GBA screen came up empty multiple times. Does anyone have the software/know how to get this flash cart running?

edit: a quick search brings this up: http://www.gameboy-advance.net/flash_card/F2A_Ultra.htm

the buttons seem to be for use as a save state and "Revival button", cool!
Still not sure what software I need to put roms on it and such.

I've got the 1Gb version of this cart. And yes, the buttons are for "Real Time Save". But this function should be buggy as hell and has to be activated in the Linker Software before the Flash process. I don't know of ANY GBA-Flash-Cart who can really do RTS.

Why you don't have roms on the cart, i can't explain until you post every single step of your flashing procedure.

Congrats on getting the F2AU! Like Bonny, I too have the 1 Gb version of the cart. I'm glad that how_do_i_do_that linked to the unofficial F2AU site, as that particular site was only otherwise known about from its flash2advanceultra.tk domain that has since expired.

Note that the savestate functions provided by those buttons only work with commercial ROMs, and only ones that the F2A team specifically patched while they were still around. I've personally used it on Metroid Fusion and it worked fine, for whatever that's worth.

You really need to get PowerWriter installed and working with the F2A USB drivers in order to interface with the F2AU cart, which as others have said, can only be done on a WinXP machine, real or virtualized.
