I managed to fix my RTC issue. here is what i did...

I took a nice hammer out of my tool box smashed the hell out of my ez flash jr. went online and ordered a everdrive x7 and now all my games that use RTC seem to work great. What an easy fix, much better than waiting forever for these dimwit devs to try and fix a problem they created.

that may be true, but im never buying another ez flash product again. Also recommending others to use other methods.

In a way is true, I bought the Junior with the RTC feature as one the main reasons to get it! And then hoping for Super Gameboy support. Now none of these features have materialized, so yeah, I understand perfectly how you feel.

It is a shame the EZ Flash team have not being able to figure out how to fix these issues, they have had plenty of time already. They should start removing the RTC feature from their marketing and then start selling at a lower price.

Here's the situation, we found some minor issues with RTC at version FW4, and then we started modifying the RTC code. Also we plan to introduce separate RTC data for each game (like an emulator). However, in FW5 testing, we found a new problem where after multiple resets, independently saved RTC data will have some new issues and we are addressing it. Or we will try to remove this feature that records independent RTC data. It all depends on our development progress.

We apologize that the beta version of FW5 may not update as quickly as we'd like, as we have new products in development in the meantime.

Also, I've put an easter egg on the official website that covers the new products that are in development. Anyone who is interested can try to crack it and guess what it is.

maybe fix the current product, before you roll out new products? this is no excuse. Get your act together.

Spoiler for the sake of others that might want to play
Assume it is the picture of godzilla and some nice binary on the side. Did also do a token check of the source code and did not see much. JPG image so probably not going to have any kind of hidden watermark (did have a little look in an editor to see if anything was super dark or something but nothing much other than a odd bit you might have missed above Godzilla's head).
Transcribing that binary
Code:
01100001 01001000 01010010 00110000 01100011 01000100
01101111 01110110 01001100 00110011 01100100 00110011
01100100 01111001 00110101 01101100 01100101 01101101
01011010 01110011 01011001 01011000 01001110 01101111
01001100 01101101 01001110 01110101 01001100 00110000
01010010 01000110 01001100 01101110 01010010 00110100
01100100 01000001 00111101 00111101
Fired it through various ones on https://www.rapidtables.com/convert/number/binary-to-ascii.html
Did not get much back for ASCII, thought UTF16 might have given me something but no.

Base64 ( https://www.base64decode.org/ ) of the ASCII on the other hand. Nice link to a text file on your website. Probably should note the name.

contents of DE.txt
Code:
100000000000000
151
30
60 90
7
90

Not sure about this one at all. Don't look like coordinates, don't look like specs for a system that might be being targetted, have not yet had something ask me for a password. If it is a popular maths puzzle then I am not going to realise it (don't really do maths puzzles).

If I assume the top line is binary then 4000h
The others however are not binary so don't know if that is mixed.
Assuming the rest are decimal though then in hex

97
1E
3C 5A (17CA if 60 and 90 are put together)
7
5A

Code:
31 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 0A 31 35 31 0A 33 30 0A 36 30 20 39 30 0A 37 0A 39 30 0A
is the hex of the text file (curious that it is 0A rather than the standard 0D0A for new lines but that means little these days, not to mention if you are all programmers there after a fashion then that is probably just the output of a programming editor).

None of that looks like it will be ASCII at all (anything over 7F or under 20h).

Guess I will leave it there. Hopefully someone else can run with it.

@EZ-Flash2 Thanks for the situtation update. Yes that's a bummer, I understand you, as a Mechanical Engineer at least in design, sometimes you get to a point where it's so f*cking difficult to solve the problem without messing with your main design that the best way to continue is to get back to the drawing board and start somethings from scratch throwing to the garbage a lot of progress (wich we all know, takes time).

I also understand the people with issues as I'm one of them (with 2 weird cards), maybe that's not the way to ask for a solution, but I also understand it as in this 2020... man, we are under a lot of pressure and stress for the situation, that sucks, I hope it's over soon. So please, keep up with the hard work to get this solved, and thaks again for all this work. Cheers.

@FAST6191 the Godzilla Binary convert it with UTF-16 big endian on rapidtables, then translate it from Chinese. But I don't think this is the easter egg. The txt file on the other hand, maybe, but I don't know what it means. But I'm shocked, that the same binary code in UTF-16 big endian translated from Chinese seems to be a phrase that Godzilla can perfectly think XD, and at the same time converted to ASCII it's a link.

Is anyone good at doing element inspection of websites?

Also can you just hint what platform these new products are for?

Yeah I'm also stuck on the text file
Maybe the '30 60 90' has to do with a 30-60-90 triangle?

@EZ-Flash2 Could you Go a Little further into detail on how the RTC is implemented from SW perspective? If there is an issue in your logic it still may be fixable somehow.. You can also send a DM if you like.

I dont want to be an EZ apologist, I most certainly am not. I had no faith EZF Omega would retain my saves without corrupting, even with good save practice so I returned my unit and I'm waiting on my X5 mini Everdrive

but I also have x3 for GB/C, without a battery and RTC functionality - and what's the big deal with using ROM patches where it asks the date and time every time you start up the game?

Are you guys playing just Pokemon 24/7 so much so its that big of a deal to use ROM patches or something?

--

I like that EZF has a presence here on GBAtemp, but judging from their responses and lack of going into depth of troubleshooting, cant help but feels its more marketing than anything (support).

Also has any one found out what new products they have coming that they've alluded to are already Easter eggs of on their site? Always curious about this stuff even if not in the market
