Hello everyone,

I need some help with getting cheats working correctly on EZ-Flash Air (GBA).

What works:​

• The folder structure is correct:

/CHEAT/<br> Pokemon - Sapphire Version (EU).cht

• The ROM name matches the CHT filename exactly.
• CHEAT menu appears normally when launching the ROM from the SD card.
• I can enter the CHEAT menu and I can see the cheat list (Master Ball x999, Rare Candy x999, etc.).

The problem:​

1. When I select cheats and write the game to NOR using WRITE TO NOR ADDON, the game either:
   
   
   
   • boots with FILE ERROR, or
   • boots normally, but in-game cheat activation doesn’t work (L+R+Select / L+R+Start do nothing).
2. Even if the game loads, the cheats do not activate (Rare Candy / Master Ball do not appear in the bag).

What I already checked:​

• CHEAT is enabled in the system settings.
• CHEAT menu is active (so the CHT file is detected).
• Tried multiple ROMs and different CHT files.
• Clean NOR write works fine, only ADDON causes issues.
• CHT files are minimal or custom — maybe EZ-Flash Air requires a specific format?

Questions:​

1. Does EZ-Flash Air require a specific CHT file format (same as EZ-Flash Omega)?
2. Is there an official / confirmed working CHT for Pokémon Sapphire (EU)?
3. Is there an in-game hotkey combination for enabling the cheat engine on EZ-Flash Air?
4. What typically causes FILE ERROR after using WRITE TO NOR ADDON?
5. Does EZ-Flash Air support in-game cheat toggles at all, or only static patching via ADDON?

Any help, working examples, or confirmed CHT files would be greatly appreciated.

I’m curious if you ever found the solution as that’s the issue I have too it’s the exact same issue and I have no idea how to enable the cheats in game.
