As i already own a DIY Jack flashcart for GB/GBC games, the only reason for me getting a EZ-Flash Junior would be a working RealTimeSave (savestate) function. As i dont care for RealTimeClock or features like "instant load" - waiting 5 seconds for a game to load is accetable, in my opinion.

And the DIY Jack also support cheats, which the JR dosen't at the moment, as far as i know. The only thing i'am missing is, that DIY Jack dosen't have a soft-reset function, but... ok.

Does anyone know if the JR has a savestate function?

What about RTC? I don't think the Jack DIY has that.
I would expect the firmware to be improved over time, if cheats and RTS aren't supported initially, they will hopefully be added. Maybe we will see some nice features from the EZFlash Omega return like per game RTC. I assume the EZFlash Jr has RTC because if it doesn't even have that, it's not a worthy product to release this late in the game.
I feel like for them to enter the game this late they must feel they have a superior product to what's already available, competing with the highest end EverDrive GB X7 much like the EZFlash Omega competes with the EverDrive GBA when it comes to features. There is no shortage of cheap GB(C) flashcarts with barebones features, so there would not be much point in them releasing another one of those, but on the high end currently EverDrive GB X7 is the only option you have.

As i wrote above: As i dont care for RealTimeClock or features like "instant load" - waiting 5 seconds for a game to load is accetable, in my opinion.

If the RTS function will be added, i'am really interested. The other thing is: The DIY Jack has no soft-reset, but i can live with that... no reason to buy just for this feature.

Are there any plans to add RTS/savestate feature to ezflash junior? Can it be done via firmware/kernel update, or a new hardware will be needed?

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
