So I picked up the EZ Flash Jr. last year and it is works great, but my battery died within a year, so I decided to solder in a bigger socket for a larger battery.
The result? It barely fits. Had to very carefully make some small safety adjustments to the case and socket.
  • the case has less give and as such I now have to be more careful with hitting the Reset Button
  • only the right side of the larger housing is soldered to the board for sizing reasons
  • the battery and housing are now very close to touching the pins on the close chips (and have bridged them once during testing!)
Should you do this? If you know the risks.
