Hacking EZ-Flash IV saving problem

I just bought an EZ-Flash IV for my GBA SP, I used the EZ4 client to put the games onto the card, they play fine and appear to save, but as soon as I turn off the console the games load with nothing saved, any ideas on fixing this?

It seems to be happening on all games, even on the saves that goomba makes.

Make sure that you have a folder named SAVER on the roof of your memory card.
Check out the battery. It wont save your games if its dead. You can replace it by a VL2020 3V Panasonic.
If the battery is not enough power, then recharge it by turning on your GBA with EZ 4 inserted and leave it until your GBA out of battery.
It should work!
