Hacking ez flash 4 battery question

i have a quick question on the internal battery of ez-flash 4. Is it safe to to recharge your gameboy advance sp with the flash card in it? will it overload the the internal battery? whenever i do that the flashcard gets warm, i get paranoid that i might damage it........

Nothing should happen during charging (the EZ4 does not get charged either), bear in mind though that the battery is fairly near the card.

If it bothers you, pull the card.
