Hardware Exchange Bottom Display IPS

Hi,

i got a New 3DS XL with top IPS and Bottom TN.

So just for interest: Is there any Online Store where you can buy an exchange Screen thats IPS? Because k found a few on ebay but they only tell you it's an LCD and not if it's a TN or IPS screen.
Because if there is any shop where i can buy a 100% confirmed IPS Screen for the Bottom i could build a Dual IPS Solgaleo and Lunala Limited Edition It's an EU Console but don't think that matter for the display.

Nothing can beat OLED yet tho.

As of my knowledge, its not normally done becuase of how rare and expensive the consoles are to find now.

I actually had a New 3DS XL (red one) break from water damage and noticed how much a top screen costs AND dual one. They were going for about $200 - $500 depending on the model, and what faceplates it had, if it was used, etc...

My dad bought me a new one (new 3ds xl) Hyrule Gold Edition, dual IPS screens in perfect condition that were used, that came with Pokemon Alpha Sapphire & a digital game, as well as a free theme.

This was for about $500 USD as well so, and the prices were starting to sky rocket on these 3ds models so high they were being priced from $200 - $800 depending on characteristics of the 3DS...

After that its like all other dual ips 3ds's just vanished. There are still IPS Screens but I haven't seen any dual ones on ebay for awhile >_>.

You could wait until the price drops once the Switch releases but that would take some time if you really wanted a dual ips screen.

How can I tell if my screens are IPS or TN?

Change to the black theme with brightness to 5, and rotate the 3DS left or right. If the screens turn brighter, they are TN. If the screens turn darker, IPS.

Or just look at the screen from an extreme angle. On a TN screen the colors will change significantly, but on an IPS screen, they should remain relatively the same. Or you can just use 3dsident. By the way, TN screens also have some positives; slightly less pixel lag and slightly lower power usage.

Hmm thats sad. But i didn't attempted to buy a complete new console because i only need the screen.
So is there no seller on earth that sells only the bottom ips display for a new 3ds xl?

You can also use (If you have homebrew on your 3DS.) 3DSident as well

If you want to assemble & replace the bottom screen & such then... you could always look on ebay, or amazon. Haven't seen any sales though.

Well I can't find any places that sell specific 3ds ips units, or the screens themselves.

As of the TCD screens I do not know. Its pretty much all just a gamble trying to find one >_>.
